A Week at Silver Springs State Park - Part I

Upon leaving the TREK rally at The Springs RV Resort we motored a whopping 4 miles to the campground at Silver Springs State Park where we had a reservation for the next 8 nights.  Also staying at the park were 4 other couples who are paddling friends of ours from North Carolina. This was to be a week of non-stop paddling.  During our stay we paddled the Silver River (twice), the Ocklawaha River (twice on two sections) and Alexander Creek.  This region of central Florida is a great paddling destination.

I seem to be developing a fondness for producing slick slide/video presentations.  Click HERE to view a multimedia presentation representing 2 paddles on the Silver River.  The Tarzan yell at the beginning of the video is in memory of our good friend Bob Benner who passed in December 2019.  We paddled with Bob a number of times on the Silver River and on every trip he entertained us with the best Tarzan yell I have ever heard.  I miss Bob.

The following series of photos are from the 2 days paddling on the Silver River.
