Shediac New Brunswick

The rains finally stopped and the sun came out as we departed Rockwood Park and St. John.  Our destination was Shediac NB 114 miles north and east of St. John.

Shediac, with a population of about 7500, is known as the "Lobster Capital of the World". It hosts an annual festival every July which promotes its ties to lobster fishing. At the western entrance to the town is a 90-ton sculpture called The World's Largest Lobster.

While at Shediac we visited Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park and enjoyed a guided tour.

Our tour guide explains the high tides in the Bay of Fundy

The Hopewell Rocks, also called the Flowerpot Rocks or simply the Rocks, are rock formations known as sea stacks caused by tidal erosion. They stand 40–70 ft tall.

Our visit was scheduled for low tide.

A convenient shoe washing station was provided

Dorcas and Wendy. Or is it Wendy and Dorcas???

We spent 2 nights at Ocean Surf RV Park in Shediac, then departed for our next destination, but not before enjoying, wait for it .... some exciting pickleball.

Next stop: Prince Edward Island.
