On Sunday June 8 we checked out of Grand Codroy RV-Tent Camping Park and moved north 182 miles to Gros Morne/Norris Point KOA Holiday near Rocky Harbor NL It was a cool and dreary day. Temperatures started in the mid 50s but dropped into the mid 40s in the late afternoon. We pumped about 52 gallons of diesel at Deer Lake. Unfortunately the truck lanes would not accept any of the methods of payment I had, but there were diesel pumps in the auto lanes that would take our credit card. This was actually a minor blessing since the auto lanes were covered and the truck lanes were not, helping me stay a little drier while I pumped fuel.

The day after our arrival the rain stopped and the sun came out and the high temperature climbed into the 70s.

The ugly stick is a traditional homemade musical instrument commonly played in Newfoundland.
From Wikipedia:
The ugly stick is a Newfoundland musical instrument fashioned out of household and tool shed items, typically a mop handle with bottle caps, tin cans, small bells and other noise makers. The instrument is played with a drum stick or notched stick and has a distinctive sound.

We enjoyed a "Picnic by the Sea" hosted by Trina from Under the Stump. We hiked from the highway down Bakers Brook to the shore and explored a small working lobster fishing village.

There was music performed by our group and led by Trina
It was very windy day and the food, implements and tablecloths were all blowing off the tables.
We had mussels, fish cakes, moose soup, salad and fruit dessert.

One night we had dinner at Ocean View Restaurant and a show downstairs at the Anchor Pub. The show was music by Anchors Aweigh, a local band that played traditional Newfoundland tunes as well as a number of other popular tune and musical styles. They were great! Click HERE and HERE and HERE to listen to some clips on YouTube. Here are a few clips I took during the show.
On our last day we took a hike to Western Brook Pond for a boat tour.
From Wikipedia:
Western Brook Pond is a Canadian fjord or lake located in Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland. It is in the Long Range Mountains, the most northern section of the Appalachian Mountains.
We had to hike ~1.7 miles one way to the boat, then another 1.7 miles to return to the parking lot. I have learned that that's about the limit for these old knees. We could have paid for a golf cart shuttle for $10 each, but we're tough, right? Or are we just cheap?
