Video of the Week: Ginger Does the Boundary Waters

I just couldn't help myself.  She's so cute, and everything was new to her, and she just had so much energy  It's hard to see in the video, but in several clips she's chewing on a fresh-water mussel she fished out of the lake.  In another she is harassing a rather large bug. And of course her favorite toy: the orange squeaky bone.

After performing for the video Ginger said "Being a star is such hard work" and crashed.

Video of the Week; The 9-pound Houdini

I think Ginger is going to be an agility champion.  We bought a 24" dog pen for her before leaving on this trip.  It didn't take her 5 minutes to plot her escape the first time we put her in the pen.  Now she can do her Houdini thing at will.  Perhaps I should have bought the 36" pen?

Video of the Week: Watch Them Sparks!

On our most recent trip to Stone Mountain I broke out our Solo fire pit for the first time.  The Solo fire pit is engineered to burn hot and to be essentially smokeless .... but apparently not spark-less.  Watch here as Dorcas enjoys our first fire. Ouch!!!

The fire also threw a spark that burned a hole in my GCI RoadTrip Rocker, a not inexpensive chair.  I guess my next investment will be for a good spark screen for our Solo fire pit.

Video of the Week: A Hot Toddy?

When we arrived in Banff yesterday it was 78 degrees and a beautiful sunny day.  Not so much today.  This morning the temperature plunged to 30 degrees, and it began snowing.  Dorcas and I spent much of the day exploring some sights in Banff.  Then I asked Dorcas if she was ready to go home ....

.... and now it's hot toddy time at our cozy home on the road.  Dorcas is happy.  Life is good.

Video of the Week

A few weeks ago we were in Ottawa and watched the ceremonial changing of the guard at Parliament.  After about an hour long ceremony: marching out the old guard, marching in the new guard, inspections of both guards and a lot of shouting and and fancy marching by the officers, the band departed the parade grounds.  I had a pretty good spot to watch the procession and took a video.
